Case study: The 3rd Largest District in Indiana Upgrades ActivPanel Boards
Challenge: Our EVSC mission is to prepare every student to excel in our global society through world-class learning experiences. In order to support that goal we need strong technology solutions that enhance instruction and student engagement.
Teachers rely on excellent presentation technology and were dissatisfied with the quality of the image projected with our previous solution.
Teachers were also “tethered” to the front of the classroom, unable to be flexible with their delivery of instruction and limited in how they could insure student participation.
Solution: EVSC made a decision to upgrade all of the traditional Promethean boards to Promethean ActivPanel technology with the capability of remote/wireless connectivity. We also included an upgrade of the audio enhancement technology in each classroom.
Benefits: Teachers could now be mobile in the classroom, presenting via ActivCast or Screen Share.
Updated capabilities that allow students to project, enhanced student engagement. In addition, we eliminated the need for lamp replacements and the cost and labor associated with that process.
Teachers no longer had to wait on lamp replacements or settle for inadequate projection quality, both of which could affect student engagement.
School Details: Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation is located in Evansville, IN serving 22,500 students across 40 different schools and is the 3rd largest district in Indiana.
Interactive Solutions: Promethean Panels w/Chromebox and Audio Enhancement Upgraded from Promethean projector mounted boards in all prek-12 classrooms.
Student Engagement: The upgraded Panels with Chromebox allowed more flexibility in the classroom. Students and/or teachers can access the board remotely with their devices allowing for a more engaging - interactive experience for students.
